CDCU is seeking a Bi-Lingual Administrative Assistant

JOB TITLE:  Bi-Lingual Administrative Assistant

REPORTS TO:  Office Manager

LOCATION:  CDCU office, Salt Lake City

FSLA STATUS:  Non-exempt, Part-time

JOB SUMMARY:  Community Development Corporation of Utah (CDCU) a nonprofit organizations focusing on homeownership, is looking for a friendly, detail oriented, tech-savvy, self-starter to maintain an organized and efficient work environment. This part-time position will be responsible for answering phone calls, offering greetings and service to walk-in customers, and providing daily operations support for CDCU staff. As the person responsible for first impressions, strong interpersonal skills are a key component of this position.


  • Answer incoming calls and manage phone and fax system
  • Assist new and walk-in clients
  • Assess client needs and connect them to appropriate resources
  • Mail applications/letters to interested clients
  • Receive daily mail and route to staff
  • Register clients for educational classes and prepare class materials
  • Gather client info and prepare intake packets
  • Set client appointments
  • Follow up with client inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational, scheduling, and calendaring skills
  • Attention to detail
  • High school diploma required, some college preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking required
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background and credit check


  • At least one year experience in  office administration and support
  • Knowledge of client counseling and/or bookkeeping helpful

HOURS:   This is a part-time position at 20 hours/week with flexibility during office hours, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There may be occasional evening or weekend work for special events.
