The Salt Lake County Lead-Safe Housing Program, administered by Community Development Corporation of Utah (CDCU), aims to eliminate childhood lead poisoning through education and rehabilitation of lead contamined housing. If you live in a house built before 1978 that has chipped or peeling paint, or if you have children under six years of age living in you home, you may qualify to have your home made lead-safe at no cost. Money is still available for this income eilgible program so please call CDCU at 801-994-7222 for more information or to request an application. If eligible, services may include lead testing, blood screening for children, window replacement, and painting.
